About Us

Our Story
The idea for La Loma Supermercado was born in 2014, inspired by a vision to bring authentic flavors, quality products, and a unique shopping experience to Battle Creek. Owners Jose Luis and Rosario Uribe saw the need for a local supermarket that truly reflected the tastes, traditions, and cultural heritage of the community.
With Rosario’s 14 years of experience in corporate supply chain management and Jose Luis’s expertise as a Licensed Contractor, they knew they could build something special—a market that not only offered the best products but also told a story through its design, selection, and innovation.

Built by the Community, for the Community
La Loma Supermercado is more than just a store; it is a labor of love and dedication. The entire supermarket was built from the ground up by La Loma Construction, its sister company specializing in commercial construction. Every design detail, layout, and feature was thoughtfully crafted by the La Loma team, ensuring that the space truly serves the community’s needs.

Bringing Authenticity & Innovation to Michigan
The focus has always been on providing the flavors that were missing—not just from Latin America, but from across Michigan and beyond. Products are carefully selected to reflect the tastes of the community, prioritizing quality, authenticity, and freshness.
But the vision did not stop there. La Loma Supermercado was designed to be one of the most technologically advanced supermarkets in Michigan, making shopping more convenient and enjoyable. Art was also incorporated to tell a story, ensuring that every visit is an experience that celebrates culture and tradition.

A Dream Brought to Life
What started as an idea in 2014 has now become a reality, thanks to the passion, hard work, and unwavering commitment of the La Loma team. La Loma Supermercado is more than just a place to shop—it is a place to connect, experience the best flavors, and feel at home.
The community is invited to become part of this story.
